Last month we returned to Leeds festival once again for another raucous weekend of raving in the woods at the Relentless After Dark stage.

One stand out act from the weekend was up and coming DJ Jess Bays. She got the crowd gassed on Saturday night with her innovative selection of vocal drenched soul warmers.

It only made sense to get Jess in for the next edition of In The Cut to share some of her inspirations. Check them out below and if you like what you see, make sure you check out another one of our Leeds artists L U C Y.

Marie Davidson - Work It (Soulwax Remix)

“This is a stand out track for me. The synth is so powerful & I’ve seen it transform so many dancefloors! Absolute WEAPON! Been in my head since the day I first heard it... no joke!”

Hardrive - Deep Inside (Harry Romero’s Dirty Paino Mix)

“The best remix of Hardrive’s Deep Inside in my opinion. It’s chunky & a proper roller which is perfect for my style of mixing. Slots into any set when I just want to remind the crowd that I can chop in a classic!”

Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons - Fly Away (Dennis Ferrer Remix)

“First saw Honey Dijon play this & it’s been a firm favourite in my sets ever since. Again it’s a roller & lifts the energy up a notch!”

Anabel Englund - So High (MK & Nightlapse Remix)

“Something new in my sets recently; it makes me feel so euphoric! When it’s on a big sound system it literally takes me to a different place! Will absolutely get played in Leeds!”

Quentin Harris - My Joy

“Classic track with a soulful edge to it. It’s been sampled so many times but in my opinion you cannot beat the original. Someone asked me at a show recently what remix it was & I was like ITS THE ORIGINAL! It’s just beaut.”
