Wind Breaks

Extreme kite surfing, courtesy of some very British weather.

If you live in Blighty, like we do, you are probably subjected to more weather-related talk than almost anybody else. A factor in this cultural peculiarity is, rather unsurprisingly, the less-than-perfect weather that dominates the islands.

This same weather seems to have shaped a very British kind of optimism; an utmost disregard for the perennial climatic conditions that appear to have become a definitive feature of the nation. It often produces some unremarkable conversation fare, but we are no big fans of small talk, so none of this today.

We came across a recent example coming from two kite surfing daredevils who took advantage of the extreme winds to some very impressive results. The young gentlemen from West Sussex took the weekend winds in stride and performed an amazing stunt over the Worthing pier.

I think it is fair to say they have considerably... hmm, elevated the collective standard making the most of kite surfing.
