Starting out

I live in a big family, I’ve got 3 brothers and one sister, all older than me and all snowboarders at some point. As you know you imitate your eldest. It just got natural to follow the track of my brothers. For Christmas one year I can remember myself ordering a monoski. I thought that it was the sport that they were doing, but thank god Santa brought me a snowboard. I just really liked it when I started to stop falling on my ass 50 times a day and also enjoyed the atmosphere around it. I just kept on doing it and it got me here.

The road to success

Having so much fun every time I ride brings me so much, so I just keep on doing what I do and I improve this way. The sponsor and opportunities you can get seems to be really big to me. I had the chance of having a sponsor that pushes me at the right time regarding my carreer. I had the chance of being surrounded by "professionals" when I was pretty young. This helps you also to have big expectations concerning your future. I know so many really good riders that never found the right sponsor and that at some point did not get the money to allow them to do what they love and what they are good at full on.

Career highlight to date

Any new trick I learn is a highlight for me. It is difficult for me to explain the intensity of the emotion I feel when I lend some thing I never have done before. Even just doing a trick with a new grab feels awesome. Travelling around the world is sick. Visiting new areas and new people is always a highlight too for me.

If I wasn't...

If I had the chance to be someone else I would choose a surfer. I am spending all year long in winter, chasing for snow and cold. This is why being on beautiful beaches and paradise areas all the time would sound like a dream to me.
