Relentless Energy Drink proudly sponsors….
Becoming a European champion of a sport after only four years of participation isn’t a feat your average athlete can usually lay claim to. But when you’re fortunate enough to have riding spot just steps from your own back door, it’s only a matter of time before practice becomes perfection. At only 21, Luke is already a well-respected wakeskater in the wakeskate community.

- Starting out
My parents have run a cable in Germany for almost 30 years. Waterskiing was always the thing our family revolved around, so I checked it out as a young kid. But I really got hooked when the first wakeskate appeared in our shop. We had to try it out immediately and it has been real fun ever since. A few weeks later I got my first wakeskate for my birthday and I took it out on the water every day. Some of my friends felt the same and a strong wakeskate scene evolved around us. Our motto is still, “Let’s get out on the water!”
- The road to success
Wakeskating isn’t easy to learn; it takes quite a while to stick the first tricks. But you have to keep on trying. Sometime it seems to me that the only goal of some kids is to get sponsors, but I don’t think this is the right attitude. You should just have fun – don’t worry about sponsors, don’t worry about rankings. All this will either happen or not. My greatest motivation is sticking a new trick. Sometimes you try real hard all day but you get stuck. Stay relaxed, give the new move a day off, and try again later. It helps to have a few buddies around so you can push each other forward.
- Career highlight to date
To be part of Wake The Line, meeting the best Wakeskaters around the world and hanging out with them. Wake The Line is the most amazing Wakeboard and Wakeskate event I’ve seen.
