Jenny Jones’ career saw her rise through the snowboarding ranks at astonishing speed. After just one week on a school trip in the Italian Alps, Jenny knew that snowboarding was the sport for her and flew to Tignes in the French Alps, working for a meagre salary simply because it afforded her the opportunity to indulge in daily snowboard sessions. At the season’s close, Jenny entered the Big Air at the British Snowboard Championships and scored gold. Despite threatening injuries, Jenny’s career has been following a constant upward trajectory with highlights including three X-Games gold medal wins in a row between 2009 and 2010.

- Starting out
I had a free half hour lesson on a dryslope with my brothers and then went on a college trip to the Italian Alps to ride for a week. Once I finished college, I decided to do a whole season in the French Alps and loved it.
- The road to success
I just rode the mountain as much as possible - jumps, pow, rails, hiked. Then, I entered contests in Europe, followed by The States. I battled with a few injuries and came back to competing and still enjoying riding today.
- Career highlight to date
Winning my first ever X Games in Aspen in 2009, winning my first ever Burton Open in Japan back in 2006 sometime, riding powder in Canada two years ago, heli boarding in early 2000…there are loads of highlights so it's impossible to name them all.
- Motto I live by
“Man who waits for roast duck to fly into mouth must wait very very long time.”
- If I wasn't...
I would like to be a surfer and I wouldn’t want to be some else. I think with surfing you get to travel to some amazing parts of the world, stay fit and healthy with the lifestyle around surfing and enjoy it all with friends. I think it would be pretty nice just wearing bikinis and wetsuits for once rather than wrapping up in loads of snowboard gear.
