Issue 1 of ‘This Is The Order’ Magazine. Launch Viewer

The Artists are special. Not because they are more gifted than others, but because of their passionate disregard for convention, their deep awareness of what it takes to succeed, and an unnatural compulsion to explore what lies beyond reach.
‘Artistry’ seemed a fitting theme with which to send the first ever issue of the Relentless magazine, This Is The Order, out into the world. It’s about people, though, not art - or at least art as you know it. It’s about the few, solitary iconoclasts who strive to carve new shapes and textures on the face of our world, and when they do, we ourselves are rewarded with something truly beautiful, something measured not in degrees or awestruck gasps, but in soul.
People like Kelly Slater. In this issue we look through the Hollywood slurs and accusations of money chasing to discover a rarely seen man, an unrelenting competitor who lives beyond the circus and the wave, an Artist.
Featuring Kelly Slater, a Caravaggio graphic novel, surfing in Thurso, skating in South Africa, Mark Webb, Oscar Niemeyer, Cai-Guo-Qiang, Danger Mouse , Chrome Hoof, Philippe Petit and more.
At the back we begin our series of exclusive graphic novels with a tumultuous take on the deranged yet brilliant existence of the great Roman painter, Caravaggio. We travel north to Thurso in Scotland and get to know the dogged hearts and driven minds of those who surf when it snows. Relentless Artists Tom Lowe and Mark Webb are featured, as well a piece on Steve Truglia, a remarkable man who plans to free-fall from 120,000 ft - basically in space - and reach a speed of over 740 mph while falling for six minutes.
On top of all this, there are additional features on Leanne Pelosi, Harry Houdini, wire walker Philippe Petit, Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, skating pools in South Africa, muscle memory, Chines artist and Olympic Games choreographer Cai Guo-Qiang, musical mastermind Danger Mouse and plenty more besides.
And the message? That Artistry is open to all, provided you are prepared to earn it.
