Relentless Energy Drink Kings of Xtreme 2012 hits new heights in Germany

More than 12,000 people came to see the 2012 edition of Relentless Energy Kings of Xtreme – a fantastic display of bikes and backflips in Leipzig, Germany, over the weekend of 27-28 January. The third edition of Germany's biggest combined FMX, BMX and MTB show went down as another huge success. Two nights of spectacular displays left the crowd thrilled.

Raising the roof with FMX, BMX, MTB and more

During the course of the three-hour show, the impressive crew of 65 international athletes treated the Messe crowd to a breathtaking display of stunts and tricks. First-evers, crazy combinations, daring doubles, insane trains and all kinds of surprising vehicles, such as snowmobiles and quads, got the audience off their seats.

The volt, performed by Australian FMX ace Clinton Moore, was one of the highlights of the show.

"First-evers, crazy combinations, daring doubles, insane trains and all kinds of surprising vehicles"

Clinton is one of only two people in the world able to pull off this daring jump – letting the bike go in mid-air, rotating the body, then catching the handlebars in time to climb back on and land.

Some of the crowd’s favourites were local talents Kai Haase (FMX) and Daniel Juchatz (BMX), whose double front-flips resulted in standing ovations. MTB maestro, Nico Scholz, pulled off the world’s first ever cordova backflip on dirt.

Going big

Relentless Energy Kings of Xtreme’s third edition also introduced the EnduroCross race to the event. German EnduroCross top dog, Mike Hartman, won hands down on both days. David Schatzki won the mini bike race, while Italian star Massimo Bianconcini set another fearsome benchmark: topping the eight-metre mark on his motorbike in the FMX highest air contest.

Kings of Xtreme has promised to return to Leipzig in 2013. Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
