The 13th edition of Bright Tradeshow proved once again why it’s the place to be for skateboarding showmanship this side of the Atlantic. Treating visitors to a vastly improved skateboarding experience, skateboard obstacles were installed in the side streets surrounding Bright Tradeshow’s location in the former Stasi headquarters of East Berlin.
In the specially-constructed 4,000-metre-squared skate plaza on a nearby football field, visitors were treated to some truly breath-taking skateboard demonstrations and the Relentless Above The Live street contest. Those competing in the Above The Live competition had to use the entire width of the arena in a choreographed sequence for a minimum of three skate tricks. Eliminations began on Friday before 13 qualified skaters battled it out in the final on Saturday. Judged by Paul Shier, Greg Poissonnier and Jan Kliewer, it was Brazilian Luan Oliveira who was crowned the winner of Relentless Above The Line, pocketing €4,000 in the process. Danny Brady of England and France's Sylvain Tognelli scored second and third place respectively.
Watch our highlights from Bright Tradeshow, which includes performances by Helder Lima, Eniz Fazliov, Bryan Herman, Brandon Westgate, Andrew Reynolds, Jerry Hsu, Leo Romero, Lennie Burmeister, Pontus Alv, Chris Haslam, Philipp Schuster, Ryan Decenzo, Andi Welther, Julian Davidson, Daniel Lebron, Michael Mackrodt, Ricardo Paterno, Luis Tolentino and the three Relentless Above The Line winners.
