Short Stories 2010: Jenny Jones - Permanent Vocation
"An honest tale about a woman choosing to dedicate her life to snowboarding"
Johannes Ostergard's Short Story
The life of a professional snowboarder. How does someone come to pursue their greatest passion and make a living from it at the same time? And what must you overcome to get there? Director Johannes Ostergard's portrait of Relentless rider Jenny Jones goes in search of answers.
The third in our series of SHORT STORIES, Ostergard follows Jones to the beautiful mountaintops of Chile and weaves, with the help of her own narrative, an introspective and provocative story that maps Jenny's rise from strapping on a board for the first time at a local dry slope to claiming her place at the pinnacle of women's snowboarding.
"This is an honest tale about a woman choosing to dedicate her life to snowboarding," Ostergard explains. "My goal is simply to present to the viewer Jenny's true feelings for her sport and the lifestyle it provides."
