The inaugural Relentless Energy Drink Skate Super Seires saw amateurs and pro alike impress at two locations in England and Scotland
The first ever Relentless Energy Drink Super Skate Series kicked off last weekend (20 November) at Revolution Skatepark in Broadstairs, and simultaneously at EK Park in East Kilbride. The first weekend of the four-park series saw the venues filled with competitors and locals alike, all supporting the scene.
The parks offered free entry to encourage as many skaters as possible. Our team at each of the events were Nic Powley at EK and Ali Menzies from Revolution Skatepark at Broadstairs. Here’s what they had to say about their events.
Revolution Skatepark, Broadstairs
The park was filled with a mix of Thanet locals as well as a few visitors from London (and a healthy Leicester contingent for some reason). All the groups were well subscribed, with about 15-20 guys in each category. We ran the comps in a mellow jam format, as there's plenty of space in Revolution. In the unsponsored groups, my personal highlight would be local boy Tim Prescott’s back flip while being heckled by his mates.
In the sponsored section it could have been anyone's win. Chris, Salar and Daryl Dominguez all killed it as usual but fell a little too much to take top spot. In the end, Kyron’s technical skills edged out Ewen’s full-speed high-power attack. All in all it was an epic session with a lot of smiles.
Special mention goes to Ewen Bower for his insane wall plant during the bowl comp.
Thanks to Revolution for hosting the event, and Vans, Shiner and Skull Candy for providing the prizes.

EK Skatepark, East Kilbride
To say that the level of skating is getting good in Scotland is an understatement. The unsponsored comp went off, with the top five walking away with a large amount of prizes.
The sponsored final was so difficult to judge (glad that was not my job). Paris pretty much landed everything he went for ,and Andy White laid down some outstanding tricks. When he lands a trick, he makes it look effortless and so very good (even double flips). Shimmon was technically impressive as usual. Martin was up to his usual silly but amazing tricks, while Kieran flew about the place with nice style and even managed to land his elusive front noseblunt slide over the quarter on the bank. A great day – thanks to Relentless Energy Drink for organising the events and thanks to Vans and Skull Candy for the prizes haul.
