Relentless-sponsored rider pulls off a hugely impressive run in the finals
"I used the course the way no-one else was using it"
It’s fair to say we saw some pretty special things at Relentless Energy Drink NASS 2011. Relentless-sponsored rider Mark Webb’s run in the BMX Pro Park finals, however, might just take pride of place. While Daniel Sondoval and Harry Main achieved some massive scores in the final event, and Aussie talent Todd Meyn pulled off a huge crowd-baiting 1080 tuck knee no-hander, it was Webb - one of the world’s finest - who emerged victorious. His incredible run made it all look so very easy.
Epic nonchalance
“It was pretty epic, wasn’t it? It was a good contest,” he says later, with typical nonchalance. “I used the course the way no-one else was using it,” he explains of his winning run.
Webb truly dominated in the final, taking first place from a seriously strong field. This landmark victory is yet another piece of recognition for the man who says he “just wants to be remembered”.
NASS won’t be forgetting him any time soon. Watch the highlights on MPORA via the link below.
