Let it snow...
We Britons love snow. 15cm is all it takes. ‘Close down public transport and don’t bother going to work, it’s snowing dammit, so let’s have some fun.’ That seems to be the way here.
"It’s snowing dammit, so let’s have some fun."
So in our droves we headed to the nearest grassy slant (pistes or slopes are a rarity in the UK) to let loose some shapes and flex last season’s gear, and as we went to bed last night, our faces ruddied by the cold, we peered between the curtains for any sign of the stuff falling from the skies. Bring more, please.
Still, once the snow bids us farewell for another twenty years or so, there are still ways of getting your winter sports thing going. Can’t bear a trip to the Snow Dome in Milton Keynes? Hit up Angel tube station instead then, and the longest escalators in Europe. This intrepid downhiller shows us how it’s done.
