Europe’s premier action sports and music festival is back for 2012 (6 to 8 July at The Royal Bath & West Showground, England) and bigger than ever before. The music line-up is taking shape in a big way, and news of bigger action sports prize purses and courses is coming thick and fast. It’s set to be another explosive weekend.

DJ Fresh and Andy C play live

If you’re coming to NASS in search of bass, you’re in for a treat. Some of the biggest names and hottest upcoming talents in drum and bass and dubstep are confirmed, with two unmissable live headline acts in the form of DJ Fresh and Andy C: Alive topping the bill. Shogun Audio boss Friction also stars, alongside the rowdy dubstep of Doctor P, Zinc & Tippa’s eclectic bass flavours, Loadstar’s stunning live show, Gemini, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Sigma, Fred V & Grafix, Wilkinson, Crissy Criss, Subscape and AMC. Bands including While She Sleeps and Rolo Tomassi are confirmed alongside this wealth of electronic talent too. All this and much, much more to be added in the coming months.

The Neon Forest

New to NASS this year is the mindblowing Neon Forest; a secluded, flourescent enclave located underneath the NASS canopy where Bristol Bass Alliance and Earwax Soundsystem are set to hosting a slew of drum & bass, jungle, dubstep and garage DJs over the course of the weekend. Stunning visuals and decor are planned for this new area to make it look truly magical, and after the big basslines have finished, it will become a stunning chill-out area with music until 3 AM. We predict big things for this area.

Skate, BMX, FMX and inline: bigger than ever

A total prize purse of £20,000 has been assembled for the World Cup Skate Pro Park, Street Spots and Girlzilla contests in the skateboarding section, and the same amount for the unmissable BMX, BMX Park, Street Spots and Ride UK Dirt Champs in the two-wheeled action. Inline returns with the World Rolling Series Park Event, and a revamped FMX show in the mix, too. New courses are being designed for all action sports events, with some big challenges ahead for all competitors.
