Ed Sheeran and Dizzee Rascal headline Boardmasters

A Relentless Energy Drink sponsored event…

It’s one of the UK’s most unique festivals. It’s a week of sun-drenched, world-class music, BMX, skate and, of course, surf action. And it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Relentless Energy Drink Boardmasters is back for 2012 (8-12 August in Newquay, Cornwall), and two massive names are heading up the bill.

The line-up

Since Ed Sheeran’s sold-out Relentless Energy Drink sponsored Energy Sessions gig last year in London, the red-haired talent has risen to become one of the biggest names in UK music. His album + became the second biggest-selling album of 2011, and his legion of dedicated fans are a testament to the sort of reaction he invokes at his gigs.

Meanwhile, Dizzee Rascal is the effective veteran, a bona fide superstar who is back with new music after a brief hiatus from the spotlight. You can always count on him to do something different with each record, and by the time his appearance at Boardmasters rolls around, he’s set to be bigger than ever with some veritable summer anthems in the bag.

The big names don’t end there, though. Maverick Sabre, Maximo Park, The Ting Tings, DJ Fresh (live), Zane Lowe, Zinc, Redlight, The Big Pink, Clement Mafro & The Frontline, Delilah, B Traits, Rudimental, Pyramid, The Jezabels, Doorly, Donavon Frankenreiter and more are all confirmed, with plenty more yet to come. It’s shaping up to be one of the summer’s most essential line-ups.

Don't forget about the intimate Beach Sessions either: three nights of world-class music by the sea. This year's headliners are Reel Big Fish, Xavier Rudd and The Black Seeds.
