Few bands can be counted as true musical revolutionaries. Even fewer can hold their integrity together over several decades. German legends Atari Teenage Riot can proudly count themselves amongst those few, with a history and reputation that precedes them, and a renewed lease of life burning bright since their 2009 reunion. On Wednesday 29 February, the band come together to headline Artrocker presents The Energy Sessions sponsored by Relentless Energy Drink at The Garage in London – a truly unmissable opportunity.
Digital liberal hardcore
Atari Teenage Riot made a name for themselves in the 1990s by fusing punk and techno in a way like no other, and marrying their sonic concoction to provocative, confrontational lyrics. They released their comeback album Is This Hyperreal?two years after their reunion, in 2011, bringing their feisty sound bang up to date with cutting edge electronics and all of their inimitable attitude pouring out at every opportunity.
Still relevant amidst the musical and social climate of today, these true legends should not be missed playing their first UK show of 2012 in the intimate surroundings of The Garage, which is sure to be shaken to its foundations by their pugnacious, fierce sound. With 17 years of back catalogue to plunder, there’s plenty to look forward to.
Run, Walk support
These true legends will be supported by death/drone/noise two piece Run, Walk intense live performances have gained them fans far and wide since they broke onto the scene a couple of years back. They make for the perfect support act for what is set to be one seriously noisy night.
Tickets, as ever, are just £5 – click here to head to The Garage London website to get yours. Tickets go on sale at 9 AM on Friday 27 January 2012.
